Sonalysts

Sonalysts, a Middletown defense contractor founded in 1973 as a sonar analysis company doing work for the U.S. Navy, has taken its internal modeling and simulation talents and merged them with digital media and production studios to work with clients such as G-Tech, Hasbro, Kerzner Enterprises and more.

Dave and Muriel Hinkle founded Sonalysts in 1973. The Hinkle's combined technical and business savvy provided the company with the necessary foundation for the subsequent expansion and diversification of its professional service offerings. Sonalysts is an employee-owned company known for its first-class technical capabilities precisely aligned with communication expertise, creativity and an understanding of the "business" of both government and commercial projects.

Sonalysts has always been a pioneer in the software and digital media industry. In the 1980s, Sonalysts developed software for the Tandy Radio Shack TRS-80 personal computer, one of the first affordable home computers. Sonalysts was also one of the first companies to offer war-gaming services to the U.S. military to allow key personnel to simulate war scenarios.

In the 1990s, Sonalysts designed and developed first-generation intranets for several corporations such as Help Net, Planet Otis and the Learning Portal. Today, intranets are standard in any large corporation.

Like any company thriving in the knowledge economy, Sonalysts has transformed itself from a sonar analysis company doing contract work with the U.S. military (which they still do) to a cutting-edge software and digital media company working on anything from music videos for country star Billy Gilman to preserving historical recordings with their audio restoration business.

With more than 400 highly-skilled employees and more than 12 offices in the United States, Sonalysts provides a variety of software and digital media solutions to the government, corporate and entertainment industries. www.sonalysts.com
