RIEDC’s small business initiative brings its services on the road, connecting companies with the tools and resources they need to succeed
Every Company Counts (ECC), the small business initiative of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC), today announced it will hold regular office hours at Rhode Island’s Chambers of Commerce, bringing ECC’s services to the Ocean State’s local communities.
ECC has been Rhode Island’s small business connection since 2004, bringing the small business community the tools and resources that they need to survive in any economy. Each year thousands of Rhode Island’s small businesses rely on Every Company Counts for timely information to help them grow and become competitive.
“As the backbone of Rhode Island’s economy, our small businesses face heavy burdens in today’s economy,” said RIEDC Executive Director Keith Stokes. “Forming these critical partnerships between RIEDC/ECC and the state’s Chambers of Commerce will help more small businesses take advantage of ECC’s unique programs and initiatives. These strong partnerships will allow us to grow Rhode Island’s economic strength --- our small business sector.”
A representative from RIEDC's Every Company Counts will be on hand at various Rhode Island Chambers of Commerce at least once a month to meet with local business owners to discuss topics such as starting a business, financing, site selection, marketing and business development. In addition, ECC will be bringing some of its most popular workshops to on the road starting in February/March 2010.
"I am thrilled to bring our services on the road to reach all small business owners,” said Sherri Lynn Carrera, Manager of Small Business Services for RIEDC and the Every Company Counts initiative. “We recognize it is not always convenient for a business owner to travel up to Providence and we want to give small business owners in every part of our state the same access to our services.”
Currently, Every Company Counts has scheduled office hours at numerous Chambers of Commerce including the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, South Kingstown, North Kingstown, Newport County, Northern Rhode Island, North Central, Pawtuxet Valley and Greater Westerly Pawcatuck. Plans to expand office hours to reach every region of the state are in the works.
