Governor Lincoln D. Chafee joined U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and U.S. Representative David Cicilline, Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien and Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) Executive Director Keith Stokes today to announce that Rhode Island has been awarded $13.1 million in federal funds to help finance small businesses through the U.S. Treasury Department’s State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). The program was established by the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010 and will provide much needed new capital to Rhode Island small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them grow and create quality jobs in the state.

RIEDC Announces Request for Proposals for Renewable Energy Projects to be Funded Through the Agency’s Renewable Energy Fund

The RIEDC announced an RFP for the development of non-utility scale renewable energy projects in Rhode Island. RIEDC Awards $225,000 Small Business Loan Fund to Nationwide Diesel Technologies, Inc.

The Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) today announced that Nationwide Diesel Technologies, Inc (NDT) has been awarded a $225,000 loan by the agency’s Small Business Loan Fund. The financing will enable NDT, which operates a technical training facility in Smithfield, to open the Trades Training Center of Rhode Island, a new training center in Quonset/Davisville on February 15 and hire 15 additional employees.
