Market Entry: Getting Into the Game
RIEDC's market entry program is specifically designed to identify distributors, agents or end-users in targeted foreign markets. Industry trade specialists located in American embassies and consulates around the world schedule one-on-one business meetings with business contacts whose interests and objectives match your company's needs. They determine if demand exists for your company's products and services, research the market and schedule appointments in the selected country. The service is available in more than 70 of the world's best markets.
The Market Entry Program is funded by the Governor's Workforce Board, and administered by the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) and the United States Department of Commerce (US DOC).
Distribution Networks
The program trains R.I. companies to build distribution networks in export markets. This is accomplished through specialized training, identifying and scheduling meetings with qualified distributors, agents or end-users in targeted foreign markets, and targeted market research.
Customized Research & Communications
Through this program, experienced USDOC Industry Specialists, located in American Embassies and Consulates around the world, schedule one-on-one business meetings with pre-qualified business contacts whose interests and objectives match a company's needs. The program includes customized country and industry training prior to business meetings; de-briefings to discuss the results of the meetings and determine appropriate follow-up strategies and more.
Fees & Costs
Companies are reimbursed the cost of the customized training; the one-on-one business meetings; and other pre- and post-market entry training expenses. USDOC fees for this service vary according to country ranging from $600 to $1300 per day. Fees are due two to three months prior to departure to the foreign country and will be reimbursed upon return to Rhode Island and the completion of an evaluation form.
