Stuart joined RIEDC in July, 2004 as Sector Lead for Communications & Information Technology. He is responsible for helping to stimulate the growth of Rhode Island's high technology industry by working with companies already in Rhode Island, as well as recruiting companies from outside the state. Stuart joins RIEDC after spending 21 years in the high tech industry, where he held senior-level marketing and product management positions both in New England and Silicon Valley for companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation, Apple Computer and various start ups. He holds a BS, Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. After 14 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Stuart and his family relocated back to New England and settled in Cumberland, RI.
